Coaching, or specific, targeted consulting to
address career issues, can eliminate bottlenecks during a campaign or after
you're in your next job. |
Coaching is a process which equips individuals with
necessary knowledge and tools for self development and increased effectiveness.
Coaching provides continuous learning, support, encouragement and feedback as
new approaches are tried and new behaviors practiced.
There are several
times when Individual Coaching makes sense: |
- You have a defined question that could
realistically be handled within 1-2 sessions.
Good example: "I
have 3 interview questions that I don't think I'm handling well. I'd like to
videotape and go over them."
Harder to execute: "I want to
increase my deal flow. Let's do this in an hour."

- You're a veteran and have been through a good
outplacement program with a prior search, and just want to touch base once in a
while to make sure you're on target.

- You're currently employed and need a
confidential, experienced sounding board that you can trust. You can use
coaching to improve your current job results, enhance your performance, improve
communication skills, manage more effectively.
You may also use
coaching to evaluate alternatives if employment elsewhere is being considered.
