The point of having a senior level group is to be
able to have a controlled, discreet, confidential environment where
professionals from different functions and industries can share information. I
envision this group to be one where 3 stages of career planning will emerge:
executives currently in transition, ones who are confidentially investigating
whether or not they want to be in transition, and ones who realize that
networking is a critical part of long term career management and just want to
keep in touch with the marketplace. In other words, I hope you will continue to
use this group as you move forward.
We will use the structured
networking format that has proven to be so successful at the regional ExecuNet
meetings. To prepare for the Roundtable, bring 10-12 copies of your resume or
bio, have a 2 minute summary of your background, and identify a well defined
question to ask the other executives at your table (e.g. a list of
companies/individuals you need introductions into; leads into search, venture
capital firms, etc.).
I'm consistently amazed at the quality of
leads that people receive once focused questions are
asked. |
